Bravo! Vail Summer Music Festival 2014

The Bravo Vail! 2014 radio special will focus on the exciting chamber series.

“Each season, the Bravo! Vail Chamber Music Series brings together artists who share the same passion for chamber music; the intensity of these groups creates a fresh sense of energy and inspiration rarely found in other settings,” says Anne-Marie McDermott, artistic director of Bravo! Vail. “Audiences can expect many firsts for Bravo! Vail, including the stellar percussion ensemble, Third Coast Percussion, whose concert marks the first time percussion will be highlighted in the series. Another notable first is the series opener that fuses chamber and jazz; it was specially created for Bravo! Vail audiences by Jeff Tyzik.”

“Bravo! Vail’s Chamber Music Series is an ideal way to experience great masterpieces and musicians up close and personal,” said James W. Palermo, president and executive director of Bravo! Vail. “The intimacy of the music making and connection between audiences and performers is why I love these concerts so much. And, this year, most of these concerts will occur at the lovely Donovan Pavilion. Being right there close to nature, enjoying great music with friends – well, that’s what makes the experience so special.”

Bravo Vail! 2014 will also include solo piano works performed by Anne-Marie McDermott in addition to her collaboration with the acclaimed Calder Quartet, the riveting young ensemble Le Train Bleu, and guitarist James Moore to create exciting and fresh music. The concerts feature music that is both familiar and new, including exceptional performances of recent works by contemporary American composers Christopher Rouse and Charles Wuorinen, as well as Dutch composer Reinbert de Leeuw.  Works of Brahms, Vivaldi, Bach and Bartok will also be featured in this program.
