Great Art at Eastern talks w/ Pamela Schuler about the upcoming Eastern Plains Clarinet Celebration

This week on great art at Eastern, Jeff gentry talks with Pamela Schuler about the upcoming Eastern Plains Clarinet Celebration.

Pamela talks about when she fell in love with the Clarinet: Probably it was a little earlier than most. Perhaps. My school District we were allowed to start playing at the fourth grade. Which now it is a little bit later than that, but I know that my mother is very much from a musical family. Her mother had played. In a dance band in the 40s and Her father had run that. So music has always been a part of our life - and my mother is a clarinet player - so you know being the diligent child that is the instrument that I picked up because I hurt my mother played and that is what I went with."

There will be guest artist playing a recital at 3 o’clock and he will be playing a set of solo pieces. He is going to be playing pieces with Cheryl Pachak-Brooks that are accompanied.  There will be some duets and some Chamber pieces that will be played by students from the Junior High and High School levels.

A total of 54 students and guest musicians will be playing the Clarinet during the Celebration during the closing numbers of the concert.
